Ehrlia runs on next generation 3d engine technology. The total conversion mod is being worked on using Idtech 5, while the standalone version utilizes Unreal Engine 5. Idtech5 is the last engine created by John Carmack for Idsoftware, and contains features like: penumbra style shadows, megatextures and virtual texturing. Unreal 5 on the other hand has newer features like lumen, nanite, pbr textures and raytracing.
